His Holiness the 17th Karmapa will not be able to travel to Europe from May 27th until July 2nd as planned. The indian government has refused the application at the present moment. The Karmapa's Kagyu Office has been notified of this fact by the Tibetan government in exile. The official reasons for the refusal are not yet known.

‘ Worlds Next Top Lama ’ To Visit Europe 2010

His Holiness the Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje, described by Time Magazine as ‘ The World's Next Top Lama ’, is considered one of the most important Tibetan Lamas after the Dalai Lama.
Now a European committee made up of Buddhist centres as well as non-religious organizations has invited His Holiness Karmapa for his first European tour. This will be in June 2010 and will include Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, Poland, France, England, Belgium, Spain, Scotland and The Netherlands.
